Barcelona legend, Hristo Stoichkov has explained why the club should not sign Forward Neymar from Paris Saint-Germian.
He also said that Barcelona stars, Philippe Coutinho and Ivan Rakitic, should remain at Camp Nou.
Barcelona are in discussions with PSG over a part-exchange deal that would see Neymar return to the La Liga champions, while Coutinho and Rakitic will join the Ligue 1 giants before the transfer window closes on September 2.
But Stoichkov now said that Ernesto Valverde’s men do not need Neymar because the 27-year-old “would be a bomb inside the locker room”.
According to him, Barcelona already have Dembele, Griezmann, Suarez and Messi.
“Barcelona does not need Neymar,” Stoichkov told Univision.
“He has no place because there are already important players.
“There are Dembele, Griezmann, Suarez and Messi. Where is he going to play?
He would be a bomb inside the locker room.”
“For my part, I don’t want him to come back. Surely there is a group of players who want him to return and ask the president to make an effort but Barcelona will not move a single euro to return. They will not pay up to PSG.”
Stoichkov added: “Players offered to PSG? It is disrespectful. For example, Rakitic is a great worker, a very humble boy who has never let his guard down and has always defended the interests of Barcelona.
Coutinho? He cost a lot of money but has a lot of football in him and I defend him. Hopefully, no Barcelona player leaves.”
