Gernot Rohr Orders Nigeria vs Benin To Be Postponed (See Why)

Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr has pushed for Confederation of Africa Football, CAF, to postpone the 2021 Cup of Nations qualifier between Nigeria and Benin Republic, earlier scheduled for November 13.
Speaking to journalists on Saturday, Rohr accused CAF of not showing enough respect to Nigeria, a three-time AFCON winner.
According to him, it was disrespectful for the continental football body to fix the game between the two West African neighbours only two days after the International window opens.
He said;
“Our game against Benin is on November 13th, which is a Wednesday. The FIFA window opens on Monday. When will our players arrive and prepare for this game? It’s ridiculous. We need to be respected and I have spoken to CAF’s Anthony Baffoe about it.
“I have also spoken to Michel Dussuyer, the Benin coach, as well. We need this date to be changed, so that the teams can arrive and train properly, for this game. Match scheduling must be done properly.”
Nigeria will play two AFCON qualifying matches next month, against Benin Republic and Lesotho.

‘Granit Xhaka Was Wrong To Tell Arsenal Fans To F*** Off’- Unai Emery

Arsenal manager Unai Emery says Granit Xhaka was “wrong” to react angrily and gesture to the fans as he was substituted during his side’s Premier League draw with Crystal Palace.
The Gunners captain was booed as he walked off the pitch at Emirates Stadium, prompting him to cup his ear.
He then took off his shirt, walked past Emery and stormed down the tunnel.
“He’s wrong but we are going to speak inside about that situation,” Emery told BBC Match of the Day.
The Arsenal boss added: “I want to be calm but, really, he was wrong in this action.”
News of the change was first greeted with ironic cheers but they quickly turned to boos as Xhaka took his time to leave the field, sparking an angry reaction from the 27-year-old.
It is not the first time Xhaka has been booed by his own fans this season, with Emery publicly defending the Switzerland international after a game against Aston Villa last month.

‘I Have Been Hurt By Man United’s Bad Results’- Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says he has been “hurt” by Manchester United’s results this season but “does not care” what people have been saying about him.
The Red Devils collected their first Premier League away win of the season by beating Norwich 3-1 at Carrow Road.
Solskjaer’s job as United manager has been under scrutiny following a poor start to the season.
“The one that need to trust me and the ones that matter, they don’t mind,” Solskjaer told BBC Sport.
United were 15th going into the game against the Canaries, just two points above the relegation zone, but climbed up to seventh with their first three points outside Old Trafford
Solskjaer said:
“This had been a good week for us. It started with a decent performance against Liverpool and now two wins away from home. It gives the players confidence and momentum.
“We have missed Anthony, he is a very important player for us, the way we play and today Marcus Rashford was excellent down the sides and in the middle. A great response to missing the penalty, chasing back and scoring.
“The third was a very good goal and a class finish. It is great for Martial to score a goal like that. We could and should have had a few more goals.”
Asked if he has been hurt by the criticism towards him, Solskjaer replied:
“I have been hurt by the results, I don’t know what has been said.
“I do not care about that, anyone can have their opinion and that is none of my business to comment on, I am not hurting because of what someone says about me.”

Paul Pogba Ruled Out Until December

Manchester United midfielder, Paul Pogba, has been ruled out until December.
Pogba has struggled with an ankle injury since August and has featured just five times in the Premier League this season.
United had hoped the France international, would return for United’s Carabao Cup clash with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday.
But Red Devils boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has ruled the player out for at least another month.
“I don’t think we’ll see Paul maybe before December. He’ll be out for a while. He needs time to fully, fully recover, so I don’t think he’ll be back.
“Maybe after the international break – but probably December before you see him.
“I’m not the doctor, but there is an injury there that needs healing. It is his ankle rather than his foot,” Solksjaer said after their 3-1 win at Norwich on Sunday.

Liverpool Manager, Klopp Gives Update On Salah & Van Dijk

Liverpool manager, Jürgen Klopp, has played down fears that both Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah picked up injuries during Sunday’s 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur.
Salah, who netted the winning penalty, was withdrawn shortly before full time after appearing to have aggravated his ankle injury.
Similarly, Van Dijk was seen leaving the dressing room with ice on his leg after the game.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Klopp admitted he was not concerned about either injuries.
The Liverpool boss, however, said he was aware that Salah’s knock will likely need some more treatment.
He said,
“Virgil got a dead leg, which will be fine. It’s painful, but it will be fine.
“For Mo, it’s the same ankle. It gets sore the longer the game goes, but it’s not a massive issue. It will disappear one day, but at the moment, it’s still a bit there.
“It had no influence on him during the game, but then the longer the game goes, the more intense it will be. If it starts again, then that’s it.”

Franck Ribery BANNED For 3 Matches

Fiorentina’s Franck Ribery has been banned for three matches and fined 20,000 euros (£17,257) after pushing an assistant referee following his side’s 2-1 defeat by Lazio.
The 36-year-old, who had been substituted in the 74th minute, remonstrated with officials at the final whistle.
He was restrained by team-mates before being shown a red card.
Ribery, who joined the Serie A club in the summer, apologised for his actions.
A Serie A disciplinary tribunal described Ribery’s conduct as “seriously disrespectful”, saying the midfielder approached the official with “threatening behaviour” and pushed him twice.
After the incident, ex-Bayern Munich winger Ribery tweeted: “I apologise to my team-mates, to the coach, to the fans.
“I apologise also to (the assistant referee) Mr Passeri because at the end of the game I was very upset and I hope he can understand what was my mood.”

Arsenal Captain, Granit Xhaka Arsenal Career Is Over – Charlie Nicholas

Former Arsenal midfielder, Charlie Nicholas, has told Granit Xhaka that his career at the club is over, after his shocking outburst during the draw with Crystal Palace.
Xhaka clashed with home supporters, after his substitution was greeted by sarcastic cheers, in the 2-2 draw with Palace on Sunday.
The Switzerland international goaded the frustrated supporters inside the Emirates, by cupping his ears at the boos and was seen mouthing “f**k off” as he stormed down the tunnel.
“Xhaka is the current captain, but I don’t think he will be captain anymore after what he did at the weekend.
“The fact he didn’t instantly apologise tells you he’s upset, angry and I’m sure it’s a horrible feeling for him.
“But that anger must be controlled. If you don’t have a thick skin you can’t be a footballer.
“The fans will always be an element of the football club and they’re bigger and better than anything else involved.
“He has to take his medicine but I’ll be surprised if he comes back in any capacity to play for Arsenal again,” Nicholas told Sky Sports.

“I Hate Been Substituted” – Lionel Messi

Barcelona captain, Lionel Messi, has said he does not like to be substituted and would rather start the game from the bench.
In the past, Messi has refused to be taken out of a game, even when his team is winning by a big margin.
“I don’t like to be replaced. I prefer to come from the bench and play less than to be taken out.
“I say that because a lot of games are resolved near the end of the game, or you find more spaces then because you have more rivals that are tired.
“I prefer to come in and enjoy it than to leave and miss out on the best,” Messi told TyC Sports

See Why Man United Snubbed Move To Sign Aubameyang

Manchester United scouted Arsenal striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, for years before deciding against signing him, The Athletic reports.
Aubameyang has scored 49 goals in 77 games for the Gunners, since joining from Borussia Dortmund in January 2018.
But the north London club were not the only club that had followed the striker.
The Red Devils scouted Aubameyang between 2016 and 2017, when he netted 73 times in 91 games for Dortmund.
But the United hierarchy were not convinced and had concerns over the valuation of around £70million and his age (he turned 30 in June).
They also believed would not fit Jose Mourinho’s striker profile of someone that could press and hold the ball up.
United eventually bought Romelu Lukaku from Everton for £75m.

Chelsea Manager, Frank Lampard Reveals Plans To Sign This Ben Chilwell

Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard, will send two of his left-backs out of the club and pursue the transfer of Leicester City star, Ben Chilwell, to fill that role, according to The Sun, UK.
Chilwell has been a star performer for Leicester of late and seems like a player who could make his way to a bigger club before too long.
According to the report, Chelsea are being linked strongly with Chilwell because they don’t see current left-backs Marcos Alonso or Emerson Palmieri in their long-term plans.
This is not the first time the England international has been mentioned as a target for the West Londoners.
He had earlier been linked with the club with a price tag of around £50million.
Chilwell had also been linked with Manchester United, who could also do with an upgrade on the inconsistent and injury-prone Luke Shaw.
Alonso scored Chelsea’s winning goal against Newcastle at the weekend.
