Chelsea named as Coutinho’s preferred destination with Barcelona keen to offload wantaway Brazilian playmaker.
According to the latest claims from Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, out-of-favour Barcelona star Philippe Coutinho is keen on a return to the Premier League to rejuvenate his tottering career, with Chelsea mentioned as the playmaker’s preferred destination in English football.
The report claims that Chelsea, Man United and Leicester City have all ‘contacted Coutinho’s agent and Barcelona’ to enquire about the possibility of a summer deal for the 27-year-old, who is likely to be sold by the Blaugrana when his loan spell at Bayern Munich comes to an end.
Newcastle United are reportedly unofficially interested in securing the services of the former Liverpool ace, although their chances of signing him largely hinge on whether the proposed takeover by the Saudi consulate is approved by the Premier League in the coming days.
Barcelona, though, remain determined to get him off their books in the summer,
