See Why Man United Snubbed Move To Sign Aubameyang

Manchester United scouted Arsenal striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, for years before deciding against signing him, The Athletic reports.
Aubameyang has scored 49 goals in 77 games for the Gunners, since joining from Borussia Dortmund in January 2018.
But the north London club were not the only club that had followed the striker.
The Red Devils scouted Aubameyang between 2016 and 2017, when he netted 73 times in 91 games for Dortmund.
But the United hierarchy were not convinced and had concerns over the valuation of around £70million and his age (he turned 30 in June).
They also believed would not fit Jose Mourinho’s striker profile of someone that could press and hold the ball up.
United eventually bought Romelu Lukaku from Everton for £75m.

Neymar was strongly linked with a return to Camp Nou, before the European transfer window closed this month.
Barca tried all they could, including offering players in a swap deal, but PSG refused to agree to their bids.
Neymar, who has three years remaining on his PSG contract, has yet to play for the Ligue 1 champions this term.
Barcelona president, Josep Maria Bartomeu, then claimed they would not be making a bid in the January transfer window.

“The negotiations between clubs are not over.
“A Brazilian just wants to be where he is happy and he was very happy at Barcelona.

Transfer: Norwegian club sign Lionel Messi, vow to sign Cristiano Ronaldo

Norwegian third-division side, IK Junkeren have signed Lionel Messi – a 16-year-old footballer – who changed his name to that of the Barcelona superstar.
Lionel Messi, previously known as Daniel Are Knutsen, made the bold decision to name himself after the Argentina captain and had the name change quickly approved.
He has also vowed to do his best to live up to his new name and believes his style of play is similar to that of the original Messi.
“I’ve had a plan for a while to change my name and I have Lionel Messi as my biggest idol. With my dedication to football, it made sense to try,” the Norwegian Messi told VG.
“I want to say that I try my best to play like him. Some similarities are certainly possible to see, but the talent is probably not as great.
“I have quite similar ball control and some speed.
“Those who know me from before still use the old first name, while new ones might call me Lionel or Leo.”
The 16-year-old Messi will start off playing for Junkeren’s G16 side, not their first-team.
Messi is still undoubtedly Junkeren’s most eye-catching signing and they aren’t ready to stop there.
“I joked earlier that we have to look for Cristiano Ronaldo now,” Junkeren general manager, Runar Bo Eriksen, said.
“We know that there is a Ronaldo in the transfer market who has previously played at Fauske/Sprint, so we know he is out there.”

Transfer: PSG ready to agree loan deal for Neymar

Paris Saint-Germain are open to the idea of a loan deal for Neymar with an obligation to buy, Goal reports.
Neymar is yet to play for the Ligue 1 champions this season after indicating that he wants to leave.
Barcelona and Real Madrid have so far failed to land the Brazilian, with PSG looking to recoup most of the €222million they paid for him two years ago.
PSG have also rejected any prospective cash-plus-players deal.
Now, however, with the European transfer deadline looming and the prospect of an expensive player refusing to take to the field for the first half of the season, sporting director, Leonardo Arajuo, and coach Thomas Tuchel are expected to hold sit-down talks with the player over his future.
PSG are receptive to the idea of loaning the 27-year-old out with a subsequent obligation to buy, which would carry a price tag roughly in the region of €220m (£201m/$244m) to €250m (£228m/$277m).
